Wadi Tiwi and Mibam Tour

Wadi Tiwi is approximately 160 km from Muscat via the Sharqiyah highway toward Sur.
This wadi is unique, featuring numerous farms and plantations, with a stunning pool deep inside toward Mibam village Named after the coastal Tiwi village, Wadi Tiwi boasts lush greenery, setting it apart from many other wadis.

The drive is under 10 km from Wadi Tiwi to Mibam village. The road starts paved but can become slippery with water and seaweed, so be cautious. Midway, you’ll navigate the narrow streets of Harat Bidah (حارة بده); with tight spaces and oncoming traffic. The paved section ends after this village, leading to a mountain path where you can park to start your hike or continue to Mibam village.

Visiting Wadi Tiwi offers a combination of an exciting off-road drive and traditional wadi trekking. The road runs along the shoulder of the wadi, allowing you the flexibility to stop and begin your hike or continue to Mibam village and start from there.

Inside Wadi Tiwi: There different ways to experience Wadi Tiwi.

We prefer to drive approximately 30 minutes into the wadi and park near some houses before entering the narrow streets of Mibam village. Following the stairs down into Wadi Tiwi, then treck for 2-3 hours, reaching a gorgeous pool surrounded by palm trees and cliffs. If you’re comfortable scrambling, you can reach this pool without swimming, but to access the ‘Mibam waterfall,’ you’ll need to swim about 80-100 meters.

The climb from the waterfall to the village is steep and requires ropes;

Alternatively, we can return to the pool and access the village through the farms to the left.

Wadi Tiwi is a popular favorite, due to its lush surroundings and beautiful pool. The trek isn’t the longest or most challenging, but it’s an attractive destination in the summer.

Wadi Tiwi Difficulty Level: 6/10. It’s trickier than Wadi Shab and Wadi Bani Khalid, but easier than Wadi Al Arbaeen, assuming you can swim and are physically fit.
